Prof. Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is a professor at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for pioneering the study of child witnesses as well as eyewitness memories in the legal setting. Professor Goodman is an prolific writer and has been awarded numerous awards and grants. She has advised a variety of government agencies and governments all over the world on policy and studies pertaining to the treatment of child victims within the legal system. She works as a Consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She holds memberships in many professional groups, such as the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society as well as the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy Practice Division and the Society for Child Policy American Psychology-Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
