Anika Noni Rose is an American actor and singer. She is best known for voicing Tiana the first Disney African-American princess In The Princess and the Frog. In 2011, she was honored as one of the Disney Legend. Rose played Lorrell Robinson, the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni rose (born on the 6th September 1973) is an American performer and singing. She is best known for the role for Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog as the very first African American Disney Princess. The Disney Company named her a legend in the year 2011. She's also well-known for her role in the film Lorrell in Dreamgirls an Academy Award winning film (2006) and as LaVerne in the Starz's Power. Her performances in the theatre are also well-known, particularly her roles in the role of Emmie Thbodeaux in Caroline or Change, a Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) that earned her the Tony Award Best Featured actress in an Musical. Her nomination was to win an award for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in a play for the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun.
